Our Story
Bear & Bee Sweet Company started in the heart of Beeston, a suburb just outside Nottingham in the East Midlands. We’re passionate about sustainable living, and helping those with specific dietary requirements to enjoy the sweeter things in life.
Our beginnings
The Bear & Bee dream originated in 2017, when we realised that there was very little choice in the market for vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, nut-free and alcohol-free sweets.
As mega sweet lovers, we wanted to help everyone to enjoy high-quality, delicious sweets. We began creating small sweet hampers for friends and family with these dietary requirements—and they were extremely popular! As word spread, we started to see more demand for our sweets, and this formed the roots of Bear & Bee as we know it today.
What started as a few thoughtful gifts for loved ones created at our kitchen table has become a busy online company offering home delivery, gifts and hampers. We’ve even been able to provide personalised favours for birthdays, weddings, small functions and corporate events, as well as hosting our very own sweet cart!
Our name
Our customers often ask the story behind the name of our vegan brand. We’re a husband-and-wife team, with names inspired by our affection for each other and our love for sweetness and creativity: Bear and Bee.
To put it simply but sweetly, these unique animals are two of our favourites. They inspire us through their resilience and adaptive natures. Where would the world be without bees and a bear to cuddle up to?!
Our modern approach to pick ‘n’ mix
For those that follow a nut-free, gluten-free, alcohol-free or vegan diet, reading ingredients lists and avoiding cross-contamination is essential, and the traditional pick ‘n’ mix experience simply doesn’t work. We wanted to make things simpler, so you can tuck straight into our sweets knowing that they’re safe for you to enjoy.
Our focus is providing customers with the finest quality vegan and gluten-free sweets, along with a wonderfully simple shopping experience. To do this, we created an innovative online pick ‘n’ mix store, combining modern convenience with the old-school experience of going to a sweet shop to pick out your favourite treats.
